For the third time, Ridge Runners are hosting the RRR Cup in Raumai Forest, proudly sponsored by Orijen Petfoods.
This year the RRR Cup will be a heated, sanctioned race event over two days. The races will be Saturday PM and Sunday AM, to make it easier for teams to travel.
Come on out and experience custom build dry land mushing trails, good food and lots of fun at the races.

Ridge Runners Sled Dog Racing Club (Ridge Runners) is a sled dog club based in the North Island of New Zealand.
Our members are mostly from the lower North Island and we welcome anyone who is interested in the sport to join us.
We have active groups in the Manawatu (https://www.facebook.com/RRSDRC), in Wellington and in Hawkes Bay (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Huskies-Hawkes-Bay). A lot of interest is currently coming from the Wanganui area and we hope to establish a local RidgeRunners group in this region soon. Head over to the Facebook pages for general news updates in all RRSDRC regions and the latest gossip :-)
We are a family orientated club that hosts social training runs, sled dog racing events as well as bike joring and canicross competitions.
The club is committed to promoting sled dog sports across New Zealand while maintaining a strong focus on animal welfare and sportsmanship.
All medium to large breeds of dogs are capable of competing in this sport and we have members with breeds ranging from the nordic breeds of Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky to Greyhounds, Bouviers, Dobermans, Steffies, Sheepdogs, German Shorthair Pointers and honorary sled dogs (you know who you are!).
Sled dog sports (including canicross and bikejoring) are perfect sports for dogs that love to run, they provide them with an outlet for their energy, help to keep them fit and in good body condition as well as being a lot of fun for the dogs and athletes.
We welcome anyone to come to an event, fun day or training run to see the dogs in action and to have a go (please check out the calendar or Facebook pages for upcoming events).
The new website has plenty of information and is still growing.
Check out the main links below for quick access, but don't miss the Forum and Events Calendar. Even more information can be found by accessing the menu at the very top, in particular make sure to browse the "More" button which offers a lot of information for members and non-members alike.
RRSDRC members will have access to archived newsletters and fully mapped trails which will make finding nice spots for training runs and exploration much easier.
Then there are also rapidly growing video and photo galleries, showcasing past and recent events of Sled Dog Racing.
Enjoy exploring the website!
